I have never been a good cook. And, more importantly, I have never really enjoyed cooking. These days, though, I don’t have any problem with it. And why not? The brilliance of fancy knives and geeky serving tools, my friends. Never underestimate the power of interesting and fun kitchen tools, especially when they make your life easier!
The first thing I need to tell you about is my USS Enterprise pizza cutter. Yes, you heard me right. Emblazoned with NCC-1701, shining in the glow of a delicious pizza, you can now boldly slice where no one has sliced before. I also have a pastasaurus, and an eggcellent little egg whisk. Being the organizational person I am, I also have designated cutting boards for each choppable food group.
Above and beyond all else, however, there is my favourite knife in the whole world. Now, I’m sorry if I sound like a serial killer, but this knife is beautiful. It cuts through anything like butter, it fits perfectly in my hand, and it looks beautiful to boot. This is one of the
incredible knives sold by Knifeware, where they will spend an immense amount of time helping you find the right knife for your handed-ness, your primary cutting activities, your hand size, and your personal tastes. Knifeware stores are all across Canada, but can be found in an Inglewood shop (which also has shaving equipment and other cool cooking tools and cookbooks!) and at the Calgary Farmer’s Market.
How do you spice up your kitchen?
